Chapter 1 - Brief History of Disney





          Disney is the most famous name in the animation industry. It is known for providing entertainment directed to adults and children alike. With international theme parks, a world-class animation studio and business franchise, Disney dominates the industry. Names such as Mickey Mouse began with Disney, and that has now branched out into several entertainment studios, theme parks, products, and other media productions.
                    Walter Elias Disney has a heart of creativity, will, and strength to uphold all of the company's success. In 1923, he made his first short film called Alice's Wonderland, in California. With all hopes and determination, he decided to sell the series of Alice Comedies to a distributor. With his dreams come true, a distributor from New York, M. J. Winkler, was contracted to delivered the Alice Comedies to the world. From this year, it was a start to The Walt Disney Company.




                 For four years, he pushed the Alice Comedies to become a success and a year afterwards Disney decided to move on to another series of cartoon characters named Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Within that year, Disney made over 2 dozen batch of Oswald cartoons. However with low on money, Disney decided to look for his distributor for some additional money. he later found out that Wrinkler had went behind his back to sign up with almost all his animators in his own studio to make less money without Disney. Since his Distributor owned all the rights to Disneys' Oswald works, there was nothing Disney can do. Disney had learn a very painful lesson and from then on, he sought all the works that he made, he owned.

           The following year, he came up with another new character. A mouse who he wanted to named Mortimer, but his wife Lilly, disagree and wanted to name it Mickey. Soon later a star is born. The Mickey Mouse cartoon was released in 1928. Mickey Mouse has been a sensation around the world.
